Quick Efficient Service

We understand that waiting may be hard for little ones, so we ensure our pediatric dental service is done quickly and efficiently.

Children’s dental care must be protected from birth through adolescence and into adulthood. We will oversee their baby teeth growth into adult teeth. Regular dental cleanings and preventive care exams are important to make sure your child has a healthy mouth. At Magic Squad Dental, prevention is the foundation of all we do. After all, it is easier and more cost effective to avoid oral disease than it is to treat it.

Infants or toddlers should visit a pediatric dentist for a checkup no later than one year of age. We recommend seeing your infant dentist every 6 months so that we can work together on making sure we keep your child cavity free with a healthy smile!

Our hygienist will clean your child’s baby teeth with a special “toothbrush” that will take plaque and calculus off on teeth. After the cleaning, the pediatric dentist will complete an exam and address your child’s dental care needs.

Nitrous oxide

Nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, is an adjunctive therapy that is use very frequently at Magic Squad Dental. It is a safe sedative with few side effects like lightheadedness, nausea or tingling in the arms and legs.  Laughing gas will help your child to be comfortable, calmer and relax during treatment. This gas is not intended to put your child to sleep, they will be awake and able to respond to requests or directions. The effects of the gas wear off almost immediately after being turn off.

Oral Conscious Sedation

Oral sedation is one of the available types of sedation that we offer at Magic Squad Dental. One or more sedative medications are given to your child, producing an amnesia-like experience (not asleep), in an attempt to achieve an increased level of sedation and perform treatment.  Special monitoring and training are required for the administration of this type of sedation. This method of sedation is most appropriate for children 3 years of age or older, who require minor amounts of treatment but more sedation than laughing gas alone.

General Anesthesia

Under certain circumstances, for the comfort and safety of your child the service of a dental anesthesiologist are required in order to complete treatment. We recommend this type of sedation with patients that have severe anxiety, extensive treatment plan or children with complex medical needs. Our board certified pediatric dental anesthesiologist will provide office-based anesthesia while the pediatric dentist complete all treatment necessary on that visit while your child is asleep.

X-rays, also known as radiographs, are an essential part of any dental care treatment plan. They are diagnostic, but they can also be preventive, by helping a dentist diagnose potential oral care issues in a patient’s mouth before they become a major problem. For the convenience of our patients our office is equipped with  nomad, wall mounted and panoramic digital X-ray devices. Digital x-rays allow us to obtain images without overexposing our patients to unnecessary radiation.

Your kid’s baby teeth are more propense to cavities when their diet is high in sugary foods and a lack of brushing.

Limiting sugar intake and brushing regularly can help reduce the risk of cavity formation.

Every time someone eats, an acid reaction occurs inside their mouth as the bacteria digests the sugars. This reaction lasts approximately 20 minutes. During this time the acid environment can destroy the tooth structure, eventually leading to cavities.

Some tips for cavity prevention:

    • Limit frequency of meals and snacks.
    • Encourage brushing, flossing, and rinsing.
    • Watch out for sugary drink.
    • Make snacks part of meals.
    • Choose nutritious snacks.
